There’s always a choice to be made

I try to buy items that will fit different occasions, be they casual or sophisticated. I can’t really say that this or that suit reflects me as a person. It’s more about me bringing myself in line with a given event, following a specific dress code. Naturally, I always remember the most important rule: the look should suit me and look good.

In all sincerity, I am not a great fan of shopping. Choosing things always takes time. That’s why I’m really happy that I have friends at Bosco (Prive) who are always there to help. A single phone call to tell them that I need something for a specific event and that I can swing by their offices tomorrow. When I’m at the store, I don’t have to try on anything. These guys know both my sizes and my preferences.

Practice does make perfect. You have to offer yourself questions and find the answers. For example: What item? A sweater. What kind of sweater? An old favorite sweater. I let my imagination run wild, thinking up a whole story: an old sweater that a boy frequently wore in childhood but has grown out of. The sweater’s quite shabby, fuzzy, homey, somewhat sad because nobody’s wearing it and it’s beginning to feel lonely. The sweater’s waiting for someone to wear it once again. But there’s no one there to wear it. See? How many things I’ve thought up! That’s the etude method! You can create virtually anything out of nothing.

The last two years have been mostly about movies for me. Previously I’ve worked on one-two-three premieres every year and actively engaged in theatre. Right now, I have a lot of film shoots. I do believe that this reflects my personal growth as an actor and the development of various platforms which offer a lot of cool content that is begging to be produced and brought to life.

There are a lot of film shoots. I just don’t have the time for theatre. It’s a real pity, I would love to be able to do both. I still think of myself as a theatre actor. The theatre is my home, my profession. You immediately get to know a theatre actor. He appears on stage and you get to know him as a person in just a few seconds. It’s not the same with movies.
